The equipment covered by this specification shall receive interrogations from X-band radars and transmit a reply to the interrogation on another frequency within the X-band. It shall also transmit X-band pulses when triggered by the associated equipment in the “All-Weather Carrier Landing System (ACLS)” mode of operation.
