BS 7897-1 – Specification for lac and shellac. Hand-made shellac
Specifies six main grades of hand-made shellac. Requirements for matter insoluble in hot alcohol are given along with optional requirements for: volatile matter, colour, wax, ash, lead and grit content, acid iodine values, heat polymerization and flow tests.
