This Standard covers closet flanges that have a floor-covering membrane and a clamping seal and specifies requirements for materials, physical characteristics, performance tests, and markings. Floor-covering membrane clamping seal closet flanges are intended to prevent water from seeping from improperly sealed wax ring gaskets and therefore help reducing property damage caused by water.
