Part 1 details technical requirements, including classification criteria and packaging performance standards. The 2012 version includes many updates and now incorporates section 5 from Part 2, updated details of packaging codes and marking, performance tests for packaging for dangerous goods in excepted quantities. Packaging instructions are now included in section 3.
